Space Engineering stars on TV and radio for A level results day

BBC TV, BBC Radio Five Live, ITV Central News, ITV online, BBC Radio Leicester, Oak FM, the Leicester Mercury and the Loughborough Echo all featured the country’ss first ever post 15 Space Engineering course around 2014 A-level results day at Loughborough College.

Despite warnings around major A-level changes this year students achieved highly at Loughborough College – including the first in the country to study Space Engineering.

Exams watchdog Ofqual predicted a shift from testing twice in January and June to getting only one chance in summer would cause increased volatility in A-level results this year but at Loughborough College there were celebrations as 93% of students taking three A-levels or more passed them all.

The first ever students to complete the unique post-16 Space Engineering course, launched by Loughborough College in association with the National Space Academy, picked up results which have secured them international job and top University offers.

Jessica Bains has been accepted by the University of South Florida on a full scholarship to study for a Masters degree in Physics with Maths and Engineering.

Nigel Grainger has won a place with leading aerospace company Airbus, set to be involved in the development of the UK’s first spaceport.
